What does color meant to you? Does it have significant impact in your life? Or its just a mere combination of different shades or simply a hue?
As I started contemplating on my surroundings, I found myself having difficulty figuring what colors really meant to me. As I see the colors around me, it doesn't make a sense. But when I began analyzing my life especially people around me, I can visualized spectrum of colors.

To begin with, the color of blue signifies masculinity that reminds me of my two sons. It has different shades like baby blue which is usually the color of their baby dresses, cribs and toys; royal blue is the color of their uniform in elementary; and dark blue which is now the color of their jeans at teen age. It also represents my favorite cartoon show, who else but Blues Clues.
White, signifies purity. My first holy communion began to flash in my memory when I am all in white pop-sleave dress and lacy veil. The sacrament itself is full of purity and holliness. My highschool graduation when I am in white toga. Innocence can be seen in my eyes as I received my diploma for I still don't know then what will my college days be. My wedding, when I walked down the aisle in all white gown. Sincerity and purity of my love was embodied in my promises.
Pink color signifies sweetness for it tickles my teen years. Who could forget my Sanrio
collections mostly in pinkish colors. My pink ribbons, headbands, clips and even blouses and bags. And my first crush who gave me three pink roses can be added to my pinkish "kilig" memories. Green signifies coolness that enlightens my life just like my collections of orchids, bonsai, and cactus. The green leafy vegetables like malunggay, spinach, kangkong and kamote sprout which are my favorites on "nilaga" and "tinola". It's a big help in my cleansing diet. Even green jokes being shared by barkadas and friends that made me laugh loud. The color green reminds me of money which can be associated with my work where I spend 10 hours a day counting both dollars and peso...he-he-he
What about yellow? Hmmm...yellow color signifies brightness. The official color of our company is yellow which displays brightness of our professional career. The yahoo yellow icon character "smiley" which I regularly used in my emails and YM messages to communicate with my friends, collegues and love ones. Red is a very strong color. It signifies passion. My love for my kids is the color red in my life. It is so strong that it can't be erased or faded just like our blood that stays inside our body for the rest of our life.
Orange for me signifies hope. Even if it is not so strong as red and bright as yellow, it still have its own lightness that makes you see hope in your everyday life challenges. Just like my orange tumbler that reminds me to drink always as part of my healthy habits. The cold juice that I often drink to release tension and my orange marker that helps me remember important info and dates on my logbook.
Black signifies silence. It reminds me of my loneliness I felt when love ones are gone. It also reminds me of my silence when I'm in despair and in my times of frustrations, defeats and failures. And it can also be felt when you turn-off the lights and go to sleep.
Our life is full of adventures just like a rainbow full of colors. How we handle each scenario of our life reflects to different color shades just like mine. Can you now start analyzing what colors really meant to you?
